The Council of Europe has highlighted that Hungary has a number of job creation programs in place aimed at integrating people living in segregation or deep poverty.

According to the Council of Europe's Committee of Social Rights annual report published on Wednesday, the Hungarian schemes were aimed to increase the number of community-owned rental housing through construction or upgrade, among other purposes.

The report said the average European family spent 19.7 percent of its income on housing in 2023, but added that the ratio was 38.2 percent in the case of families below the poverty line.

Furthermore, it said the ratio was especially high in Greece (62.4), Denmark (57), Sweden (48.1), Czechia (46.7), Germany (45.8), Austria (41.6) and Hungary (41.2).
