The world pays final respect to Queen Elizabeth II today, who became a world leader without having any real executive power. I think she was the epitome of leading by example.
I had the honour to meet her once or twice, moments I cherish, and as a diplomat, I always followed with keen interest how she carried out her duties. I thought it was instructive for us, diplomats what and how she was doing. I also believe that she gave us, women an excellent example to be a family woman and a professional person, in short how to be a modern woman.
I still think that the best documentary on her life is
Elizabeth R: A Year in the Life of the Queen.
It is worth taking the time and watch it again in these sad hours. May God rest her in peace.
